ULAB Students Visit Mongla Port and Khulna University

Students of the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) majoring in Supply Chain Management participated in an educational visit to Mongla Port, organized in collaboration with the ULAB Business Club. The visit was designed to provide students with practical exposure to the industry they are studying and help them connect classroom learning with real-world operational practices.

A Valuable Industry Learning Experience

During the visit, students observed the day-to-day operations of Mongla Port, including cargo handling, container storage, and customs procedures. They also had the opportunity to interact with port officials and industry professionals, gaining insights into shipping, logistics, and trade operations.

The visit provided students with a closer understanding of how concepts discussed in their academic courses are applied within a working port environment.

Visit to Khulna University

As part of the same educational tour, students also visited Khulna University, where they had the opportunity to interact with faculty members and students and experience a different academic environment outside ULAB.

This added an enriching dimension to the tour, allowing students to broaden their perspectives beyond the industrial environment and engage with another academic community.

Understanding the Role of Mongla Port

The visit also provided students with a broader perspective on Mongla Port's role in Bangladesh's trade and economic landscape, particularly its contribution to regional connectivity and the country's growing export-import activities.

Beyond its academic value, the tour offered students an opportunity to learn together outside the classroom and develop a deeper appreciation of the scale and complexity of the supply chain sector they are preparing to enter.

The ULAB Business Club continues to facilitate initiatives such as educational and industry visits, creating opportunities for students to gain practical experience and connect their academic knowledge with real-world industry practices.
