ULAB Faculty Member Md. Kamal Uddin, PhD, Represents Bangladesh in China Young Leaders Program

Md. Kamal Uddin, PhD, Assistant Professor of Finance at ULAB School of Business, recently visited China as a member of the 2026 Young Leaders Delegation from Bangladesh to China, following an invitation from the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies. The 10-day program, held from 21–30 June 2026, covered three major Chinese cities- Kunming, Shanghai, and Beijing and provided him an opportunity to participate a series of academic, policy, and cultural engagements.

The visit began with an inaugural session at Yunnan University in Kunming and concluded with a closing ceremony hosted by the China International Communications Group in Beijing. During the program, Dr. Uddin participated in seminars and discussions with leading Chinese institutions, including the Shanghai Municipal People's Congress, Shanghai Institutes for International Studies, and China Civil Engineering Construction Group, focusing on international cooperation, innovation, and sustainable development.

With the delegation, he also visited several prominent institutions and landmarks, including the Future Transportation Innovation Research Institute, Dounan Flower Market, Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center, Yangtze River Delta G60 Sci-Tech Innovation Corridor Exhibition Hall, the Memorial of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the Palace Museum (Forbidden City), the Great Wall of China, and Sanhe Kangheng Renewable Energy Company.

The visit provided Dr. Uddin with a unique platform to engage with policymakers, academics, and industry leaders, while gaining firsthand knowledge of China's achievements in innovation, infrastructure, sustainability, and international collaboration. The experience is expected to further strengthen academic and institutional linkages between Bangladesh and China and contribute to enriching teaching, research, and international engagement at ULAB.
